Paul Weber, C.S.A., is presently the Head of Casting/in house casting director for MGM Studios, MGM worldwide television and MGM feature casting. His MGM credits include: “DEAD LIKE ME”, and JEREMIAH” for Showtime; “SHE SPIES” and the reality show “FAME” for NBC; “STARGATE SG-1”, “STARGATE ATLANTIS” and the upcoming “STARGATE UNIVERSE” for the sci-fi network.
Recent MGM films include: “PICTURE THIS”, staring Ashley Tisdale, “LEGALLY BLONDES”, “WAR GAMES II” “INTO THE BLUE 2”, as well as “THE INITIATION OF SARAH” and “CUTTING EDGE 3” for ABC FAMILY.
LIFETIME credits include: “ENEMY MINE,” “BLITHE AND VIRGINIA,” “HAUNTING ON SORORITY ROW” as well as “FLASHPOINT” a new CBS series.
Mr. Weber is in active development with MGM on new series, pilots and features including: the new series “STARGATE UNIVERSE” and the SPIKE TV pilot “WAR IN ’04” as well as JOSS WHEDON’S “CABIN THE WOODS” and an upcoming DENZEL WASHINGTON feature.
Additionally, Mr. Weber also casts 3-5 independent films a year. Recent credits include: “TABLE FOR THREE” starring Sophia Bush and Brandon Routh, “LAZARUS CHILD” Starring Andy Garcia, Angela Bassett and Frances O’Conner, and “OZZIE”, a family film starring Spencer Breslin.
Furthermore, Mr. Weber also co-produced three feature films, most recently, “HOLLYWOOD NORTH” starring Sir Alan Bates, Matthew Modine, Jennifer Tilly and Deborah Unger. He is also the U.S. Casting Consultant for the CBC Canadian Broadcast Company.
In Mr. Weber’s 4-hour cold reading audition intensive for film and television, (designed for actors age 10 and up), he will give each actor a scene to prepare and will offer personal direction and guidance that will give the actor insight into the cold-reading process, help the actor develop audition skills and prepare the actor for a successful career in the industry.
