Becky’s New Car

GET logo
“When a woman says she needs new shoes, what she really wants is a new job. When she says she needs a new house, she really wants a new husband. And when she says she wants a new car, she wants a new life.” Meet Becky Foster, a modern day American Everywoman stuck in middle age and middle management with no prospects for change. Enter a socially inept millionaire who offers Becky an enticing new life. You’re invited to ride shotgun with Becky as she faces her own fork in the road on a wickedly funny, inventive and touching ride through the perils of middle age.

The Foreigner

GET logo
The Foreigner may be one of the funniest American plays ever written as it uses every device in the comedy storehouse to make you laugh yourself silly! Charlie’s shyness renders him helpless in conversation – so when a friend covers for him by telling the other guests in a rural Georgia mountain lodge that he is an exotic foreigner and speaks no English, Charlie ends up hearing more – MUCH more – than he should.

Ring of Fire

The Johnny Cash Musical Show
GET logo
We’re gonna raise the roof with this barn-burner of a musical that celebrates the songs of an American legend, The Man in Black himself, Johnny Cash. This thrilling show will feature an ensemble of many of your favorite GET singers and musicians who will make Ring of Fire an extraordinary theatrical event to add to our rich history of high energy, sold-out, foot-stomping musicals!
What a fun and unique gift idea for friends and family!  Or simply treat yourself to a wonderful time at the Theatre!

Ashley LeConte Campbell’s
– Script Analysis Workshop
It’s finally here! The workshop that everyone has been waiting for!!! Ashley LeConte Campbell is bringing her ‘Script Analysis Workshop’ to BLUEPRINT 4 HOLLYWOOD!

Ashley left a 20 year career in the corporate sales world at the beginning of 2005 and started her acting career. Although she’d done commercials and industrials on the side, she’d never taken an actual acting class until then! She found some wonderful classes and workshops in Atlanta that paved the way to her eventually taking Margie Haber’s 6-week Intensive in Los Angeles – and with that her tv/film career was launched! Ashley was coached by Crystal Carson prior to almost every tv/film booking she’s had and believes that continuing to be coached/trained is critical to growing a solid career in acting….and to staying competitive with the LA talent against whom we are being compared!

Script Analysis Workshop
This 7 hour workshop is full of everything an actor needs to answer the question, “What are the most important things for me to do when I get my script/sides?!”  We all know that the answer is NOT that you should race to memorizing your lines….but what is the most important way to prepare?
Actors who have trained with Ivana Chubbuck, Margie Haber, Crystal Carson, Annie Grindlay, Howard Fine, Uta Hagen, or Larry Moss will recognize familiar themes.
In this workshop we will:
– Discuss and use our imaginations to find our character’s want, obstacles, environment, relationships, stakes, and history
– Break down sides from Film/TV projects that have shot in the area
– Watch short video clips of Los Angeles casting directors/actors/coaches espousing these exact techniques for creating a 3-dimensional character
– Take part in fun exercises that put to use the things we are learning throughout the day.

Q: Is there something deep about Salt, doc? I’m serious. I really wanna know.

A: Salt is vital for life. It’s pretty much as key as water. As you may know, they give you saline when you’re dehydrated… and that’s not just straight H20. And salt gives things flavor. Jesus told his disciples to be “salt and light.” That’s all pretty deep, in a spiritually-significant sort of way.

Oh, wait. You were talking about the movie, weren’t you? Yeah, there’s some of that there, too, I suppose.

AMC Renews ‘The Walking Dead’ for a Third Season

AMC announced today the renewal of The Walking Dead for a third season. Season 2 continues to deliver the strongest telecasts for any drama in basic cable history against Adults 18-49 shattering a basic cable record set nearly 10 years ago for a single drama telecast (The Dead Zone). The Walking Dead is based on the comic book series written by Robert Kirkman and published by Image Comics. Glen Mazzara serves as series’ showrunner. Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd, David Alpert and Frank Darabont are executive producers. Greg Nicotero is a co-executive producer.

“Today we are pleased to announce that the ‘dead’ shall live as we proudly renew The Walking Dead for a third season on AMC and, globally, with our terrific partners at Fox International Channels,” said Charlie Collier, AMC’s President. “We are thankful for everyone’s contribution in front of and behind the camera as we continue to make The Walking Dead a unique television experience. And, we are so proud as it continues to set viewership records around the world.”

FOX International Channels rolled-out its global launch for The Walking Dead this weekend, with premieres on FIC’s cable networks in Europe, Asia, Latin American, Africa and the Middle East. The series’ international premieres delivered equally impressive results in all major international TV markets, and broke pay-TV ratings’ records across the world. Over 10 million viewers in 122 countries tuned in live to watch the second season premiere of this highly anticipated returning drama. And, FIC will once again be the international broadcasting partner for the series with Entertainment One continuing to distribute in non-FIC markets.

“Partnering with AMC on The Walking Dead took some guts”, said Sharon Tal Yguado, SVP of Scripted Programming at FIC. “But at the same time was the easiest programming decision we ever made. It’s rare to come across a groundbreaking TV project that is also attached to some of the best talent in town. The Walking Dead was treated as a global event since day one and not only changed the traditional TV model but also changed our viewers’ TV experience. It is now officially a global addiction with millions of fans around the globe wanting more. We are delighted to give it to them.”

The Walking Dead secured a 2010 Golden Globe nomination for Best Television Series – Drama and won the 2011 Emmy Award for Outstanding Prosthetic Makeup. The series tells the story of the months and years that follow after a zombie apocalypse. It follows a group of survivors, led by police officer Rick Grimes, who travel in search of a safe and secure home.

The Walking Dead received rave reviews from countless critics, both domestic and international, who heralded the series as “above all else, The Walking Dead hasn’t lost the most important ingredient in its strangely successful recipe: it’s thrilling” (The Hollywood Reporter), “…with Dead’s riveting cast of characters, the personal dynamics are almost as potent as the gory thrills” (Us Weekly), “The Walking Dead is a feast. Dig in.” (The Guardian, UK), “It doesn’t even take three minutes to realize that this series is setting standards” (Der Tagesspiegel, Germany).

january interviews w/ sharon chatten

“I began studying with Sharon back in the mid-eighties, in her loft in New York. Her teaching had, and continues to have a passion and intensity that, at times, frightens me, but in a good way. Sharon’s genuine love and concern for her students, the craft of acting, and for script analysis has always touched and inspired me. Sharon has an insatiable curiosity, and is a true humanitarian. I’m proud to be one of her students, as well as one of her friends.”
Marg Helgenberger, Actor
“Sharon is an incredible teacher. I started with her over 25 years ago and keep coming back. Her work is all based on truth and process and not result, but the result is getting to a place that is specific, interesting and alive. I love her!”
Ben Stiller, Actor/Director/Writer/Producer
“Known and worked with Sharon for years. Great detailed audition prep and really good at breaking down script before shooting. Energetic, soulful and detailed work.”
Keri Russell, Actor
“I was lucky enough to find Sharon at a bit of a creative crossroads in my life and career. I had been working in Los Angeles for over a decade and, like many of us, I had gotten complacent. I was bored, I was uninspired, I was in a rut. This all changed the minute I began to work with Sharon. She was having none of this. Through her passion and intensity and with her take no prisoners attitude, I went to places I didn’t know I was capable of. Words and phrases such as “no” or “I can’t” were no longer tolerated and with this new found attitude my work (and life) began to open up again.

For anyone who is looking to go beyond themselves and to be truly challenged, they would be wise to pay Sharon a visit.”

“I’m forever grateful for the day I met and began working with Sharon Chatten. I work with Sharon on everything that I can, it’s become part of my process. She is a true artist, gifted at script analysis, character development and teaching. Working with her keeps me disciplined, specific, grounded in technique and always artful in my work.”
Kim Dickens, Actor
“I was a student of Sharon Chatten for many years through my 20′s and have continued to seek advice from her all these years later.
Sharon was the first person I trusted when it came to performance. Before meeting her, I never took anyone’s opinion of my acting or anyone else’s acting seriously. I studied at the American Stanislavski School of Acting before studying with Sharon. There, I learned a lot about the history of acting and different forms of acting, but sort of did my own thing when I was on stage. It wasn’t until I studied with Sharon that I understood what was missing in my performance, what was missing when it came to telling a story.
I know this might sound a bit dramatic, but I hung on her every word when she would speak in class. For the first time in my life, I went home from class feeling like I had to do the things she was teaching justice. I still feel the same so many years later.
I can say without hesitation that I am the actor I am because of what Sharon Chatten taught me and how she inspired me. No doubt in my mind. I know she still continues to inspire my peers. I have thanked her over and over but it can never be enough.”

Dear Mississippi Damned Supporters,

Ever since Mississippi Damned premiered on the film festival circuit, there’s been something about the film that people can’t seem to shake. Whether it is the realistic world in which it’s set; the intense and talented acting; or the showcasing of African-Americans in cinema; people all over the world keep calling, writing, tweeting, and making Facebook posts. I am immensely thankful that after debuting on the festival circuit more than two years ago, thousands of people are drawn to the film and are moved by its contents.

This is why Morgan’s Mark is excited to announce its holiday sale on the Mississippi Damned DVDs and posters.  Share this powerful film with friends and family during the holiday season. That’s what I did! Mississippi Damned is based off my intimate life experiences and I am always asked the same question, “Has your family seen the film?” My family has indeed seen the film, and further, I chose to show them this portrait of our lives during Christmas!   Contrary to what many may expect, the film did not wreck my family relationships nor our holiday festivities; rather, it sparked candid conversation about past secrets, our family bond, and future plans. The film brought us closer together as a family and allowed us to confront issues that we had ignored for years.

This unforgettable experience and the growing demand for the film since its television premiere on Showtime has inspired this holiday sale in the hopes that the film will continue to spark conversations, comfort those in similar situations, and empower personal growth. To all of Mississippi Damned‘s fans who have championed the film – thank you. I appreciate your support, letters, phone calls, and tweets. It lets me know we are doing something right at Morgan’s Mark and we are eager to bring you more stories from our unique perspective.  By supporting Mississippi Damned this holiday season, you help ensure the future of our next film, County Line, a father-son crime drama with a unique southern perspective. For more information on this film and its development, we encourage you to join our facebook fan site for County Line.

Thanks and Happy Holidays!

Tina Mabry
