Feature Film & TV Location Assistant / Location Scouting Workshop

ATLANTA, Georgia — The Georgia Production Partnership (GPP) is offering a Feature Film & TV Location Assistant / Location Scouting Workshop taught by Maida Morgan and Michael Riley, professional Locations Managers for feature films and television for over 25 years.

This hands-on intensive workshop will educate and train students to work as employable Location Assistants to a Location Manager and teach the basics of how to be a Location Scout. This class is for the serious applicant only – one with an interest in beginning or enhancing their career in the Locations Department.

This class is limited to 20 students who will be chosen from a written application. You must own a laptop, a good digital camera (a camera phone is not a digital camera), and have the ability to upload photos through your computer to the internet.

This class will be taught over two days at a total cost of $99. Saturday, April 10th, from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm and Sunday, April 18th, from 10:00 am – 3:30 pm. Students must attend both classes. Lunch will be provided both days.

Maida’s credits include: Assistant Locations on Fried Green Tomatoes, Freejack, Armageddon, and Jurassic Park 3. Locations Manager on RoboCop 3, Andersonville, Mama Flora’s Family, Remember The Titans, Hulk, Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events, Beauty Shop, Drop Dead Divas, The Crazies, and currently, Hall Pass.

Mike’s credits include: The Real McCoy, Fled, Black Dog, Passing Glory, O Brother, Where Art Thou?, Sweet Home Alabama, Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd, Bobby Jones: Stroke of Genius, Diary of a Mad Black Woman, Warm Springs, ATL, and Stomp the Yard.
