Shannon Eubanks–
Back for her On Camera Technique Workshop
December 4th and 5th!
Chez Studios is excited to announce that Shannon Eubanks will be teaching her popular On Camera Technique acting workshop for adults (ages 16 and older the weekend of December 4th and 5th.
In this ever changing world of technology that we live in, the casting industry is quickly feeling the effects, as evidenced by the way in which actors are now auditioning. It is becoming more and more common for actors to be asked to put themselves on tape for an audition. Thus, it is more important than ever for actors to learn to master their on camera effectiveness in order to enhance their auditioning opportunities. Without the leadership of a casting director in the room, the actor is on his/her own. As a leading casting director, Shay stresses the importance of learning the effective tools to successfully audition on camera through this intensive workshop weekend with Shannon Eubanks.
A note from Ms. Eubanks: my “intro” class is challenging and effective even for actors with long-term experience, as it is unlike anything they’ve had before. It is NEW TOOLS.
There will be a morning session from 9 AM until 1 PM Saturday and Sunday, and an afternoon session from 2 PM until 6 PM Saturday and Sunday. The cost of the two day workshop weekend is $185.The workshop will be held at the Residence Inn by Marriott Atlanta/Buckhead at 2960 Piedmont Road, Atlanta, 30305. The hotel phone number is 404-239-0677.

Chez Studios is proud to team Shay Griffin and Ric Reitz together for a not to be missed educational seminar targeted for the serious beginning actor.
This two-part day of lectures is scheduled for Saturday, November 13th. The subject matter and structure of the day allows for ages 16 and older to attend.
Shay will host the morning session, entitled, “Get the Job! The Business of Show Business,” which will begin at 9 AM and end at 1 PM.
There will be a one hour break for lunch, which will be followed by Ric’s afternoon session, entitled, “You Got the Job…Now Don’t Get Fired!” and will include discussions about on the set etiquette and sound stage techniques.
This unique opportunity to spend the day with two top professionals in the industry affords the serious actor and the serious aspiring actor a head start on his/her acting career by learning things about the industry that may otherwise take many years to learn and develop through trial and error, not to mention through the school of hard knocks! After spending the day with Shay and Ric, you will be prepared to jumpstart your professional acting career.

WIFTA Gala A Great Success
Women in Film & Television Atlanta’s 2010 Gala Awards
An Evening of Inspiration
ATLANTA, November 5, 2010 – It was a night of inspiration as well as glamour at the Women in Film and Television Atlanta’s 36th Anniversary Gala Awards held November 1st at the Woodruff Arts Center. At the aptly titled event, “A Night of Inspiration,” WIFTA honored: Actor/Director/Producer Kim Fields with the prestigious “Industry Trailblazer Award” for excellence in film and television; Headline News Anchor Robin Meade with the “Creative Excellence Award” in the field of journalism; and the Georgia Production Partnership with the “Outstanding Contribution to the Georgia Film Industry Award”.
The evening was filled with inspiring success stories within Georgia’s growing film and television industry. Guests and honorees walked the red carpet, bid on silent auction fundraising items and feasted on a formal dinner before the awards ceremony, conducted by Mistress of Ceremony Ms. Elle Richardson.
“I am extremely overwhelmed by your thinking of me as a trailblazer and I thank you for that,” Kim Fields said upon accepting her award presented to her by Tyler Perry Studios Vice President Roger Bobb. Fields currently works as a director on Tyler Perry’s television shows “Meet the Browns” and “House of Payne.”
Robin Meade acknowledged her team and the huge role they play in producing her morning show. “They’re the reason why our show comes across as so creative,” Meade said. “Because of the team themselves and this table is just a small representative portion of all the people that help put the news together.”
Georgia Production Partnership Co-Presidents and founders Steve Mensch and William Vanderkloot accepted the award on behalf of GPP and said that the organization is extremely honored to be recognized by WIFTA for its effort over the past 15 years to become the “Voice of Filmmaking in Georgia.”
GPP is a not-for-profit coalition of companies and individuals who are active in the state’s film, video, music, and interactive game industries. They have been instrumental in the grass roots organization of the production community and the development of key legislative incentives including the now all important Georgia Tax incentive bill, known as the Georgia Entertainment Industry Investment Act of May 2008.
The evening also included an announcement of WIFTA’s 2010 Student Scholarship winner, Ms Jessica Guerra and premiered WIFTA’s United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta Public Service Announcement, “One Person at a Time”.
Special Thanks: WIFTA Special Events Director Beatrice Allen; WIFTA Board and Volunteers.
Gala Sponsors: The Woodruff Arts Center, Xfinity, Raleigh Studios Atlanta, Film Finish, Liquisound, and Feral Kitty Music.

The Chez Group Workshop
Shay Griffin and Ric Reitz will conduct their two-part seminar this Saturday, November 13th from 9 AM to 6 PM! With an influx of talent coming from all over the country to our Hollywood of the South, it is more important than ever that you be at the top of your game.
Don’t miss this opportunity to learn from Shay Griffin herself, as she speaks from a casting director’s perspective on how to best market yourself in this highly competitive industry. Any slight edge you can gain over your competition could mean the difference between getting a callback and not. Shay will help you to navigate the important steps necessary to master the “business of the business”. Topics of discussion will range from headshots and resumes to how you walk into the audition room and conduct yourself like a professional actor. The morning session with Shay will run from 9 AM to 1 PM.
Now that Shay has helped you to get the role, the last thing you want to do is lose the job because you are unprepared or uninformed. Ric Reitz, a professional actor, writer, composer, producer, and director, will take over for the afternoon session from 2 PM to 6 PM and will be focusing on helping you keep the job! Topics of discussion will include set etiquette and sound stage techniques. We have all heard the saying that time is money…you do not want to cost the production company money because of your ignorance or inexperience on the set…and you could ultimately lose the job!
After spending this two-part day with Shay and Ric, you will be prepared to jumpstart your professional acting career.
The workshop location is the Residence Inn by Marriott Atlanta/Buckhead at 2960 Piedmont Road, Atlanta, 30305.
There is still space available, so register now by going to the training page of our website, http://www.chezgroup.com/training.html
The cost for the full day is $125, a great investment to make in advancing your acting career There is a PayPal button for your convenience on the webpage. Please take advantage of this eight hour seminar to know that you are always putting your best professional foot forward!
We hope to see you soon. In the meantime, please feel free to contact me with any questions.
Sincerely,
Mary Ann

Crystal Carson – Los Angeles acting coach – www.crystalcarson.com – is coming to Atlanta November 18th!
“How do I book the roles that keep being ‘saved’ for the Los Angeles actors?!”
Film/Television Audition Technique Workshop – $75
Thursday, November 18 – 5pm-8pm
This popular workshop helps beginning and advanced actors book more and larger roles. Even though we may think we nailed our auditions and our agents and friends and teachers tell us we’re great…..we don’t always get called back. Often it is simply that we are not doing the things that look “right” in the eyes of producers/directors from LA. This short class will help all actors come across as professionally as the LA actors with whom they are being compared.
Watch a short (informal!) clip from Crystal’s last workshop in Atlanta: http://gallery.me.com/ashleycampbell#100616
To register: contact Ashley Campbell: campbal@charter.net for mailing address or PayPal option.
